Our mission

Clinical data management is for review, not transcription

We are creating infrastructure that automates protocol digitization, giving clinical teams more time for judgment and less for data entry.

Why we exist

The protocol-to-EDC translation gap

Each clinical trial starts with the same demanding task: data managers read a 100-to-300 page protocol document, extract every data requirement, then enter each one into an EDC interface. Weeks of work follow, with errors emerging months later as post-enrollment amendments.

This is a structural issue, not a skills issue. Protocols hold highly structured, machine-readable information. Turning protocol text into EDC configuration follows rules and should not demand human transcription.

Concordare automates transcription, letting clinical data managers review parsed output for clinical accuracy, resolve edge cases, and approve the final build.

Zach Sawaged

Zach Sawaged

Co-founder and CEO

Zach Sawaged has CRO experience managing study build timelines for oncology and rare disease Phase I-III trials. He founded Concordare after seeing the same CDM bottleneck delay starts across three consecutive programs.

Priya Natarajan has clinical data management experience across two biotech sponsors and a large CRO, building EDC databases in Medidata Rave and Veeva Vault EDC. She leads Concordare's early-access program and onboarding.

How it started

A CRO timeline issue and a parsing prototype

Concordare started as an internal tool at a clinical operations consulting practice. While managing study start-up timelines, the founder kept seeing the same bottleneck: a 90-page Phase II oncology protocol arriving Friday, manual EDC configuration beginning Monday, and a sponsor expecting a review-ready build within three weeks.

The first prototype pulled visit schedules and endpoint definitions from a test protocol PDF into a spreadsheet a CDM could load and review, rather than build manually. Review took a few hours instead of a few weeks of configuration, confirming the approach was worth pursuing.

The company was incorporated in Cambridge in 2023. First external builds ran in 2024. The early-access program began in 2025 with clinical data management teams testing the workflow on live protocols.

Now Concordare supports Medidata Rave, Oracle InForm, Veeva Vault EDC, and ODM XML exports, plus CTMS and eTMF filing integrations used in production by early-access customers.

Where we work

Cambridge, Massachusetts

Concordare is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We stay close to the clinical research institutions, biotech sponsors, and CROs we serve, using that proximity for in-person protocol review during onboarding.
